Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper
a divorced

rural southeast Missouri home about 5:15 p.m. Sunday. A passer-by
saw the body and called the patrol, Graham had completed his shift
and was still in uniform. Though Graham was home at the time of the
shooting, the patrol characterized his death as in the line of duty,
making him the 24th state trooper to die on the job. No suspects
were in custody. The patrol and several other law enforcement
agencies were investigating. Graham had been with the patrol 12
years. He was zone supervisor for Carter and Reynolds counties.
Graham was born in St. Charles
County and graduated from Dexter High School in 1986. Graham joined
the Highway Patrol in 1993. He was promoted to corporal in 1999 and
became a sergeant in 2002.

Reward funds, as well as a memorial fund to benefit the young
son of the Missouri State Highway Patrol sergeant killed Sunday
at his Van Buren residence have been established.
The Missouri State Troopers Association is offering a $5,000
reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of
the individual(s) responsible for the death of Sgt. Carl Dewayne
Graham Jr. Anyone with information about Graham's death is asked
to call 573-323-8588 or 417-469-3121. Graham's father, Carl

fund for Graham's 4-year-old son, Hayden, also was established
this week. Donations can be made at the First Midwest Bank in
