Investigators say the suspect's vehicle was last seen exiting Interstate 94 in the Detroit suburb about 9 p.m. Tuesday. Lt. Dan Kromer was pronounced dead Tuesday night at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. He was a 20-year veteran of the all-volunteer Taylor Auxiliary Police Department. Police were looking for a white, possible late 1990s or early 2000 model Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis or similar model with heavy front end damage. Auxiliary officers are volunteers whose duties include traffic control and stranded motorists.
